When Acting Becomes a Passion: Vishal Solanki Shines in Parineetii

Vishal Solanki: Proud of My Role in Parineetii... and Dreaming of Playing a Spy
The Indian TV series Parineetii has achieved significant success across the Arab world, especially in Egypt, where it recently topped viewership charts. We had the pleasure of sitting down with the talented Indian actor Vishal Solanki, who captivated audiences with his compelling portrayal of the character “Rakesh.” In this exclusive interview, Solanki shares behind-the-scenes insights about his role, his future ambitions, and his candid thoughts on current issues in the entertainment world.
From Guest Appearance to Leading Role
When asked about how he felt being offered the role of “Rakesh,” Solanki shared:
“Initially, I was only supposed to appear on the show for a month. But the producers were impressed with my performance, and the audience responded enthusiastically to the character. The early episodes received high ratings, which led the writer to keep me on as a permanent part of the cast. It’s been a wonderful journey, and I’m deeply grateful to the writers and directors who believed in me and helped me refine my craft.”
The Challenge of Playing a Villain – And a Game-Changing Piece of Advice
Solanki, who took on a negative role for the first time in his career, opened up about the initial difficulties he faced:
“Yes, it was challenging at first because I had never played a villain before. But the director gave me a piece of advice that completely changed my approach. He told me: ‘Don’t play the role as if the character is evil—live the role as if you genuinely believe in it.’ That gave me the confidence to dive deep into the character.”
Dreaming of Playing a Spy and Cherished Roles
When asked about a role he dreams of playing, Solanki responded enthusiastically:
“Yes, I would absolutely love to portray a spy. I think roles like that are full of depth, challenge, and excitement.”
As for the roles closest to his heart, he mentioned:
“Rakesh in Parineetii and Jassi in Kumkum Bhagya—both were defining moments in my career.”
Followers vs. Talent: A Candid View on Social Media Fame
Solanki didn’t shy away from sharing his thoughts on how actors are sometimes judged solely by their number of followers:
“If someone is chosen for a role based only on their follower count rather than their talent, then those behind the decision aren’t serious about their project. Popularity without skill won’t get you far. These days, anyone can buy followers—but talent can't be bought. It must be discovered, and true talent is rare.”
Hearing Himself Speak Arabic—A Surprising Moment
Since Parineetii is currently airing dubbed in Egypt, we asked Solanki if he’s seen any clips of himself speaking in Arabic. With a smile, he recalled:
“Yes! A girl from Egypt sent me a dubbed video clip. She loved my performance. When I watched myself speaking in what I thought was Turkish (he likely meant Arabic), I was both surprised and amused.”
A Message to Youth: Be Kind and Stay True
When asked what traits define a successful person and what advice he’d offer to young people, Solanki shared a heartfelt message:
“Be honest with yourself and others. Work sincerely and let your success speak for itself. Don’t be harsh or selfish in pursuit of your goals. The world needs more kindness and compassion. We live with our minds, but we’ve forgotten our hearts—and that’s the root of many conflicts.”
Where Does Vishal Solanki Shine the Most?
When asked which types of roles he feels most confident in, Solanki replied without hesitation:
“Villains, romantic comedies, and passionate lovers—those are the roles I enjoy and excel in, just like in Parineetii.”
Upcoming Surprises for His Fans
Wrapping up the conversation, Solanki gave a small hint about what's next:
“Yes, I’m currently working on a new project, and I’ll be announcing it very soon.”
In closing, the Indian star expressed his deep appreciation for his growing fanbase in the Arab world:
“I truly appreciate the way you asked your questions—they were smart and grounded. I’m so happy that my fans in Egypt and beyond India value my work and support me. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
